Here are some examples of assessments and their approximate costs:
- A cognitive assessment using the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children 5th Edition (WISC 5) which assesses verbal comprehension, visual spatial skills, fluid reasoning and processing speed, (6 – 16 years):
- 3hrs working with a child or young person in school.
- Fixed hourly rate of 3hrs for scoring and report writing.
- 1hr feedback meeting to parents and teachers.
- Dynamic assessments. Dynamic assessments are different to cognitive assessments because they do not produce a score, they focus on strategies children use when they learn and which ones help them to learn:
- 2hrs working with the child or young person in school.
- 1hr feedback meeting for teachers and parents.
- Fixed hourly rate of 1hr for report writing.
- Kinetic drawing assessments. Kinetic drawing is a projective technique and is helpful for exploring emotional difficulties:
- 2hrs working with the child or young person in school.
- 1hr feedback meeting with parents and teachers.
- Fixed hourly rate of 1hr for report writing.
- Observation and feedback. Observing a child or young person in school:
- 1hr observation of the child or young person in class.
- 1hr feedback meeting with teachers and parents (notes taken from the meeting will be included).
On unfixed items above, additional time will only be charged in 15 minute sections.
